We have unguided walking/hiking trails along the Sabie River, so remember to bring along your "takkies"/walking shoes.  Enjoy the rapids, rock pools and "bum-slides" or just stroll along, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of nature.  Take along a backpack filled with snack to enjoy on the rocks.  The hike is around 2km with a little climbing over rocks, take your time, there is no rush for anything at Mackers.  Take our resident dog "Pig" with you - he will be your guide.

Our guests love fishing in the river - there is Yellow Fish in our section of the river - dig up a worm and throw your rod won't be disappointed!

Remember to bring along the kids bikes!

Mackers is also home to over 250 species of birds, making this a birder's paradise.

You can bring along your own tubes or kayaks to experience the river.

We are close to all adventure activities that your heart desires and we can cater for all needs, from daredevils to relaxers.  Let us know if we can book you an elephant interaction, tubing, white water rafting, mountain or quad biking, etc.
