Annual Sabie Tube Race 2015
Its that time of the year again, for the 40th time, find an old car tube and join us in Sabie for this year’s Sabie Tube race from 6 to 8 February 2015.
The Sabie Tube race is a fun filled day, where hundreds of people get together to float down the Sabie river in old car tubes. This time of the year we generally have good rains so the river runs quite fast, making for an exciting adrenalin filled two hour trip to the end. To take part you need to register before the day of the event - firstname.lastname@example.org.
The famous annual Sabie Tube Race, hosted by the Round Table, ensures lots of fun, laughter and adventure.People from right across the country, including a healthy batch of Secunda residents, attend this annual tube race at Sabie.
Early on Saturday morning, groups of people already start gathering next to the water at several launching points. Groups dress up in all different colours and styles imaginable. The competitiveness of the race is rather recognized by hefty mud fights than anything else.
The atmosphere all around is also characterised by loud music, the smell of braai fires and a general feeling of festivity.
Mackers Riverbend is just around the corner... book your stay a one of our beautiful chalets and be a part of the 40th Sabie Tube Race. See you there!!!
